Hoffbrau Plans Basement Bar

Jody Thornton plans to renovate the basement of Hoffbrau Steaks in Fay-etteville and open a bar there by September.
Thornton manages the steak house for the owner, his brother-in-law, Matt Charboneau. Thornton will manage and own the bar downstairs.
Thornton said the bar will have two rooms — one for live entertainment and one that serves as a lounge. He said it will offer features found in no other Fayetteville establishment. There will be a stairway entrance from inside the restaurant and one from the alley behind the building, he said.
Charboneau said the bar will accommodate about 250 people. Currently, the restaurant can seat 200.
“Basically, all we’re doing is cleaning it and replumbling,” Thornton said of the basement. “We’re not doing any structural work or anything like that.”
Thornton said he’s currently in the architectural phase of the project. He hopes construction will begin by June.
