Family ties pulled together in opening Chapel Gardens, a new home and garden decoration shop in Bentonville. Frank and Norma Farrer joined their three grown children to begin a family business.
“We’re kind of family people,” Norma Farrer says.
Sharing the responsibilities of running a business, the Farrers each work to take care of the store departments.
A lawn-and-garden section supplies garden fountains, wind chimes, statues and wrought-iron furniture.
The home decoration department includes products such as brass fixtures, candles and pieces of local art. Engraved awards and silk flower arrangements are also available.
Aside from decoration supplies, Chapel Gardens also offers a afternoon deli that serves sandwiches, salads, and homemade soups. During warmer weather, customers may eat outdoors in several gazebos, Farrer says.
Prices at Chapel Gardens appeal to almost any budget.
“We have things from 99 cents to $1,000,” Norma Farrer says.
Before the Farrers filled the 5,500-SF with home and garden materials, Frank and Norma Farrer worked for three years to renovate the run-down building that once served as a church.
“It was known as the Queen of the Ozarks, according to an article in the archives,” Norma Farrer says. “It’s the most beautiful building in Northwest Arkansas.”Chapel Gardens
