American Freightways, which operates more than 25,400 pieces of revenue-generating equipment, including tractors, trailers and freight dollies, is also expanding its service. Starting in April, the company will add seven additional Northeastern states to its service area. The number of routes are still being determined.

The company only recently expanded its interactive site at www.af.com. The site now has color-coded service maps and through rates from U.S. to Canadian destinations.

“It’s a convenience for our customers,” Conner says. “They can see the service times from one point to another or do ZIP code to ZIP code service times. It’s just a nice added feature, and, when Sheridan Garrison founded this company years ago, he emphasized that we would always be consumer-oriented.”
