You Get What You Pay For
We hear John White, chancellor of the UA’s Fayetteville campus, sorely wants to hire Claudia Mitchell-Kernan to be provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs at the UA.
The only problem is it’ll probably cost him $225,000 per year to lure her away from her job as dean of the graduate division and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of California at Los Angeles.
But, by laying off 32 physical plant workers, the UA will save $880,000 per year, which could pay for Mitchell-Kernan and two other administrators of similar stature.
