The League of Women Voters of Fort Smith has announced new officers for 2010. The president is Dolores Chitwood; Rev. Diane Burl, vice president; and Christy Vines secretary/treasurer.
The board members are David Harris, Nancy Brewer, Elizabeth Childers, Phanita Williams, Joyce Spears and Delores McMillian.
The League is a nonpartisan political organization formed in 1920 to improve systems of government and impact public policies though citizen education and advocacy. As a nonpartisan organization, group members encourage informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding or major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
