Most Arkansans negative on prospects for state economy

Arkansans don’t like the direction of the overall economy, despite being more positive about their personal financial situations.

In a Talk Business Quarterly Poll of 600 likely Arkansas voters conducted by phone on Oct. 12-15, participants were asked their opinions the Arkansas economy, their finances, and their expectations for the next year. The TBQ Poll is managed by Roby Brock, owner of TalkBusiness.net, which is a content partner with The City Wire.

“Compared to our July TBQ Poll, there is a small shift in pessimism towards the state’s economy. The same percentage of respondents described the Arkansas economy as strong or in a recovery three months ago; however, more poll participants now feel that economic conditions are either approaching a recession, in a recession or in a depression,” Brock noted in his report.
