KATV, Talk Business & Politics Launch ‘Election Central’ Weekday Coverage
KATV and Talk Business & Politics are expanding our coverage of weekday political news reporting with “Election Central” updates.
Beginning Monday, July 7, the two news organizations will produce a short end-of-the-day newscast wrapping up daily political news from Arkansas campaigns and candidates.
The webcast will regularly appear on KATV.com and TalkBusiness.net Monday through Friday through Election Day on Tuesday, November 4.
Anchors, reporters and analysts will take turns hosting the newscast including KATV’s Scott Inman, lead capitol reporter Janelle Lilley, Elicia Dover and Talk Business & Politics host Roby Brock. In addition to covering news of the day, there will also be occasional guest appearances by other political pundits and bloggers who will offer insight, including TB&P bloggers Jason Tolbert and Michael Cook.
“Consumers are asking for more in-depth political coverage. By using all of our available platforms — KATV.com, Twitter and Facebook — KATV’s Election Central, combined with the resources of Talk Business & Politics, will be there daily to provide the information that they are looking for,” said Nick Genty, news director for KATV Ch. 7.
“There is a huge appetite in Arkansas for more coverage of the campaign trail. With the resources of our two news groups, we will be able to feed that political interest,” said Talk Business & Politics host Roby Brock. “From the national attention of the U.S. Senate race to contests for Governor, statewide offices, Congress and the state Legislature, viewers can keep up with the behind-the-scenes moves shaping this year’s elections.”
Talk Business & Politics airs Sundays at 9 a.m. on KATV Ch. 7 and can also be heard statewide on NPR affiliates across Arkansas throughout the week.
