Cook: New Mark Pryor Ad Raps Tom Cotton’s Medicare Record

U.S. Senator Mark Pryor unveiled a new television ad this week highlighting his record of protecting Medicare and rapping opponent Tom Cotton for wanting to increase the Medicare eligibility to age 70.

Tom Cotton voted for the infamous Republican Study Committee budget proposal which would raise the age for access to Medicare to 70.

In the ad, Mark Pryor says the following to a group of people seated with him around a table:

“I wrote the Medicare Protection Act to stop politicians from destroying Medicare. My legislation makes it harder to raise the eligibility or to turn Medicare over to the insurance industry. My opponent voted to withhold benefits until age 70, and I’m trying to stop that.”

Tom Cotton’s votes against protecting Medicare are coming back to haunt him.

Pryor’s Medicare attack on Cotton is part of the Senator’s larger narrative that Cotton’s agenda and voting record is reckless and irresponsible. I’m sure we’ll see more ads along these same lines many times over before November.
