Southern Fried Swing
This long weekend of lindy hop and swing offers a dozen plus workshops with nationally ranked instructors. Participants can take up to four classes daily from 11 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at The Oaks. Then, after a day of classes, enjoy a night, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m, of swing dancing, performances and competition. All dancers and swing dancers are welcome (not just those attending classes) as some of the best of swing music will be played all evening. Additionally, on Saturday night, dancers can enjoy performances by nationally ranked instructors and other lindy hop teams plus a Jack and Jill competition. On Sunday night, after the third and last day of lindy hop workshops and classes, Southern Fried Swing concludes with a night of swing and blues dancing. Friday and Saturday’s night’s venue is The Oaks. Momentum Dance Concepts is the venue for Sunday night. Classes are $10/class with discounts for entire weekend. Dances are $20/person Friday night; $20 Saturday night; and $10 Sunday night.
