Poll Shows Rapert Leading Tyler In Senate Race
A new poll released this morning by Diamond State Consulting shows Republican Sen. Jason Rapert with a 10-point lead over his fall opponent, Democratic Rep. Linda Tyler.
The poll has Rapert at 46.7% to Tyler's 36.3% with 16.9% undecided.
This Senate District 35 race between Rapert and Tyler will be one of the hottest Senate races in 2012. Gov. Beebe and AG Dustin McDaniel helped redraw the State Senate seat to
be as favorable for Tyler's campaign as possible, but it appears Rapert still has the advantage.
The Diamond State poll also tests a generic ballot for Republicans and Democrats.
Those results show 56% of voters in District 35 favor a generic Republican to 30.6% favoring a Democrat.
Obviously, the poll is from the Republican side of the aisle, but during the 2010 election cycle Diamond State made a name for themselves for their precision accuracy in the state legislative races which they polled. It will be interesting to see what their polls are showing this cycle as the races develop.
