Ryerson To Add 20 Jobs At Little Rock Factory

Ryerson Inc., a leading processor and distributor of metals in North America and Asia, is planning a major renovation and expansion of its Little Rock service center.

The privately-held company did not disclose the size of its investment, but it did say it would add 20 new jobs to its existing workforce of 150.

“This investment in Little Rock will place Ryerson at the forefront of plate processing capabilities in the region and allow us to meet the needs of our growing customer base,” said John Crews, General Manager of Ryerson Little Rock.

Ryerson plans to add heavy plate leveling, straightening and forming equipment and shot-blasting capability.  Ryerson is also investing in machinery that will support high-definition plasma cutting and the ability to drill, tap, machine and bevel in a single setup.

The upgrades are expected to be complete by March 2012. Ryerson serves customers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and China.
