Arkansas Public Service Commission Chair Colette Honorable was elected as second vice-president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), an association representing state utility regulators across the U.S.

“I am honored and humbled to be elected by my peers,” Honorable said. “NARUC is a force for good in the regulatory community and I look forward to working with my State utility regulators from all over the country to improve regulation for the benefit of the consumers we all serve.”

As Second Vice President, Honorable is a member of the NARUC Executive Committee, which consists of the NARUC President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer, and three ex-officio members to provide geographic balance. The Executive Committee offers general guidance and administrative functions for the overall operation of the organization.

Also as second vice-president, Honorable will be responsible for organizing and overseeing NARUC’s New Commissioner Forum, an informal training session for new commissioners held at the Association’s three yearly meetings. In addition, she will help support the National Regulatory Research Institute, an independent research firm focusing specifically on state regulatory issues, as a member of its Board of Directors.
