Formal Announcements, New Names Dot House, Senate Candidate Lists

It’s been 3 weeks since our last update of our spreadsheets highlighting certain and probable candidates for the Arkansas House and Senate.

For months, Talk Business & Politics has been keeping track of the announced and rumored political candidates for next year’s state House and Senate seats. All 135 seats will be up for election due to the decennial census and redistricting process.

By this time next year, campaigns and elections will be entering the home stretch of the cycle.

We might also point out that a looming deadline for candidates to relocate in districts where they will qualify for the ballot is coming up in early November. State law requires that a person elected to the state House or Senate must live in that district for a full year before they’re elected. Something to keep in mind as we close in on that important qualifier.
