Hendrix College will host a TEDx series on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1-4 p.m. at Worsham Hall in the Student Life and Technology Center on the school’s Conway campus.

TEDx events are local conferences where themes and ideas are explored by a variety of speakers from different backgrounds. One of the purposes of the events ties into the mission of TED programming, which promotes “ideas worth spreading.”

Presentations are short – typically under 18 minutes – and include a variety of thought leaders in fields including art, technology, performance, and big and small ideas.

This particular TEDxHendrixCollege event will center on the theme “Origins” and will include a variety of national speakers as well as Hendrix College alumni.

Talk Business & Politics host Roby Brock, a Hendrix graduate, will emcee the event.

  • Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Doug Blackmon
  • Former President/CEO of Heifer International Jo Luck
  • Art Educator Meg Bourne-Hulsey
  • Musician Dana Falconberry
  • Editor of Science Times for The New York Times David Corcoran
  • Northwestern University Professor of Psychology Dan P. McAdams
  • Hendrix College President Bill Tsutsui
