Bumpers Gubernatorial Papers Open To The Public
From Malcolm Glover with our content partner, KUAR-FM 89 News:
Important records from Dale Bumpers’ term, as Arkansas Governor in the 1970s, will finally be open to the public at the Arkansas Studies Institute in downtown Little Rock.
The documents are maintained by archivists with the UALR Center for Arkansas History and Culture and Deborah Baldwin manages the project.
"These papers will be open to students and scholars, from around the country and around the world, who want to study not only Arkansas Governor Dale Bumpers and also southern governors in general," said Baldwin.
Baldwin says there will also be an online exhibit that features photographs collection and other tools to help researches navigate the Bumpers collection. The website and other documents open to the public this Wednesday.
