This exhibit features a series of highly provocative prints by Fort Smith native Anne Reichardt. These rich and sensual works explore psychology, the unconscious, and the far reaches of the human imagination. The title of this series is an allusion to Virginia Woolf's novel, "Orlando,"which tells of a soul's gradual development over a period of 400 years. Work on this project began in 1999 for the artist, that involved designing and sewing costumes which are featured in the series. Over a three-year period she created this series that has won awards in several well-respected juried competitions in the United States.

According the artist, the process involves "mysterious, non-verbal, intuitive manner of human communication which engages my art making." The work involves printing paper or canvas with archival pigments, often over-painting with transparent acrylic glazes. The prints are large- scale and reveal unique, finely etched detail.

The RAM opening reception for The Orlanda Series will be Thursday, March 5, from 5 to 7PM, and will feature live guitar music by acclaimed musician Gary Hutchison. Refreshments will be provided. Reception will be free for RAM members and $5 for non-members. The exhibit will be on view through May 24 , 2015.
