Do you enjoy the thunder and smoke of Civil War cannon?  Many people do but there is much more to cannons than just the booming sound. On October 11th at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Fort Smith National Historic Site, along with the cannon from the Drennon-Scott Home in Van Buren will present a program about the realities faced by soldiers in battle during the Civil War and fire two reproduction cannons. Admission is free.

Fort Smith National Historic Site is located in downtown Fort Smith.  To access the free parking lot from Garrison Avenue, turn south on 4th Street and west on Garland Avenue.  For more information on the park, please call the park at 479-783-3961.
