Sturdy Used Gear, the state’s first consignment store for used outdoor gear and apparel, recently opened in Bentonville, according to a news release.

The 3,300-square-foot store at 3406 S.E. J St., No. 2, has outdoor gear such as tents, sleeping bags, hiking boots and bikes.

Kelsey Miller is the owner of Sturdy Used Gear and invested about $45,000 into opening the new store.

“Outdoor gear is expensive, which can be a barrier to many accessing the outdoors,” Miller said. “Sturdy offers an in-person marketplace where you can both sell the gear you no longer want or need, as well as purchase gear and apparel for your next outdoor adventure, for far less than new. Whether you just like a bargain, need to sell some gear hassle-free, or need to outfit your weekend camping trip on a budget, Sturdy is the spot.”

Miller is the sole employee of the store, which is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m Wednesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It’s closed Monday and Tuesday.
