UA receives $350,000, names property manager
The University of Arkansas recently received $350,000 in gifts and selected a property manager for some of its campus-adjacent assets.
Nick and alumna Carolyn Cole have pledged an additional $250,000 to support Path Scholars in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. The couple’s gift builds on a long-time commitment to the UA and to expanding access through the Honors College Path Program. The couple gave $250,000 in 2014 to establish the Nick and Carolyn Cole Honors College Path Endowed Scholarship.
The Path Program connects talented Arkansas students with mentoring, academic resources and opportunities for research, study abroad and leadership, helping them transition to and succeed at the university. Through both gifts, the Coles have invested in creating pathways for students who might not otherwise have access to an honors education.
The estate of alumna Jane McMullin gave $100,000 to establish the Land of Opportunity Scholarship Endowment in her memory. McMullin died in January 2024 at the age of 72.
The Land of Opportunity Scholarship campaign is a three-year initiative to expand educational access for students from all 75 counties in Arkansas, improve graduation rates, and foster engagement between the university and businesses throughout the state. As of April 30, the campaign raised 69% of its goal in 49% of the time, with more than $138.44 million in pledges and commitments.
On Feb. 1, Cushman & Wakefield / Sage Partners began serving as property manager for leased spaces at One East Center and the Garland Avenue Shops. The partnership includes oversight of day-to-day operations, tenant coordination, financial reporting, maintenance and long-term asset strategy for the two properties.
Sage Partners will act as the university’s exclusive property management agent for the properties, responsible for operational decisions and enhancing overall property performance.
