Faye Harrower
Faye Harrower of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on June 5, 1938, in Stigler, Oklahoma, to the late Raymond Albert Turnbow and Ruby Augustus (Voorhees) Turnbow. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Delbert, Ray, Gene, and Albert Turnbow; her long life companion/husband, Raymond Harrower; and a son, Darrell Ray South.
Faye spent many years as a waitress in Charleston. Anyone that knew her knew she was the life of the party. She loved her family, loved to sing, cook, play bingo, and loved to sew. She always wanted to cook for anyone that came to visit and she didn’t hardly take no for an answer. Faye was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Jimmy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by a son, Rick South and wife Tessie of Greenwood; a daughter, Brenda Watkins of Booneville; three grandsons, Little Darrell South, Brandon South, and Derrick Lawson and wife Pam; one granddaughter, Shantelle Hamilton and husband Dalton; and multiple great-grandbabies.
Pallbearers are Clint Teague, Roger Clark, Ray Watkins, Kenneth Goff, Dalton Hamilton, and Kenneth Dillard.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
