Thaden School expands performing arts program
Thaden School, a K-12 private school in Bentonville, is expanding its after-school program through the Thaden Community Performing Arts Program. This new initiative will carry forward several youth programs previously offered by Ovations+ in addition to new programs.
While Ovations+ will close as an organization, many of its programs and educators will continue through Thaden School. The Thaden Community Performing Arts Program will include orchestra, theater, and movement offerings open to all students, not just those enrolled at Thaden School.
“We are deeply proud of the community these programs have created,” said Jason Miller, Ovations+ executive director. “It is meaningful to see them continue in a place that values both excellence and accessibility.”
In addition, Thaden School will offer an introduction to dance through movement and expression classes taught by instructors from NWA Ballet Theatre. For years, Thaden School has served as the host site and partner for many Ovations+ programs and performances.
“These programs have played an important role in the lives of so many students and families,” said Michael Maloy, Thaden School’s head of school. “We are honored to help carry that work forward — preserving what makes these programs special while expanding access to even more students.”
The programs will build on the legacy of the Arkansas Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Trike Theatre, with leadership and instruction from many of the same faculty instructors who have guided these programs in recent years.
Audition registration for the Thaden Community Youth Orchestra recently opened.
