Experience Fayetteville, the city’s tourism marketing agency, and Downtown Fayetteville Coalition are working together to launch three new events that will take place this year in the Upper Ramble in Fayetteville.
The events include the Fayetteville Arts Fair, American 250th Celebration, and Hogs & Dogs: Rumble in the Ramble.
“Each of these events highlights something that already makes Fayetteville special: our artists, our food scene and our deep-rooted school spirit,” said Ryan Hauck, CEO of Experience Fayetteville. “They’re built around culture and community, giving people more reasons to come together downtown and celebrate what connects us.”
The events are expected to bring expanded arts programs to Fayetteville, support area businesses, and create opportunities for residents and visitors to gather throughout the year.
“When we bring high-quality events into downtown, our restaurants fill up, our shops see new customers, and people are reminded why they love spending time here,” said Kelly Rich, executive director of the Downtown Fayetteville Coalition. “These three events showcase what makes downtown Fayetteville so special.”
The Fayetteville Arts Fair will take place from noon to 6 p.m. April 19. The free event will feature regional galleries and artists showcasing their work and live performances. Performers include the Jazz and More Orchestra and Orquestra Afinkie, and the performances will be accompanied by dance performances.
The American 250th Celebration will be from 6 to 10 p.m. July 3 as part of the national commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary. The free event will include area food and music. BITE NW Arkansas will be part of the event with BITE Fayetteville, a ticketed experience featuring area restaurants and the city’s culinary scene.
“This celebration allows us to honor an important milestone in our nation’s history while spotlighting all that defines Fayetteville today — its music, food and people,” Rich said.
Hogs & Dogs: Rumble in the Ramble will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 18. It will be a tailgate and pep rally for the University of Arkansas and Fayetteville High School, hosted before the Razorbacks face Georgia the following day. It will include a wing competition benefiting Fayetteville Spirit, with 10 teams competing for the title of best wings in Fayetteville. There will also be spirit squads, Tusk and live music from the Rodney Block Collective.
“Razorback pride runs deep here, and so does our commitment to supporting local traditions,” Hauck said. “With Georgia coming to town, this is a chance for the whole community to rally together before kickoff and celebrate what makes Fayetteville special.”
