Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville will host a conversation with Ken Burns, an award-winning documentary filmmaker.
Building Bridges: An Evening with Ken Burns will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 17 at Heartland Whole Health Institute on the Crystal Bridges Campus. It’s the next event in a new lecture series honoring the American spirit of meeting in the middle with curiosity, courage, and care.
The inaugural Building Bridges event on Dec. 1 included a conversation with President Barack Obama.
On April 17, Crystal Bridges Board Chair Olivia Walton will moderate the conversation with Burns as he shares his newest documentary, “The American Revolution.” In the conversation with Walton, he will discuss how America’s founding ideals continue to shape conversations about democracy and governance.
The program, taking place at a time of deep political polarization, invites renewed civic dialogue rooted in the principles of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the pursuit of a more perfect union, according to the event website. Link here for tickets.
The event will begin with a welcome from Jeffrey Rosen, CEO emeritus of the National Constitution Center, include clips from Burns’ documentary, and end with the conversation.
