Fayetteville will host a major international soccer event in March that will feature men’s and women’s matches at 72,000-seat Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The Club América Golden Clash 2026 will take place March 28. The match will include Liga MX rivals Club América and Club Tigres. The women’s game starts at 2 p.m. and will be followed by the men’s game at 5 p.m.
According to a news release, Club América is recognized as the most-watched soccer club in the United States, with more than 15 million fans nationwide and a global fanbase exceeding 45 million. Soccer overall reaches more than 100 million fans in the United States and is growing faster than any other major sport, according to the release.
“Being selected as the host city for the Golden Clash is a major win for Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas,” said Ryan Hauck, CEO of Experience Fayetteville, the city’s tourism marketing agency. “This event reflects our city’s growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting world-class sporting events while delivering meaningful economic and cultural impact for our community.”
The Golden Clash takes place before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across North America. Outside of the match, the Golden Clash is expected to include a multi-day series of fan events and team experiences.
“The inclusion of both the men’s and women’s teams reflects the continued rise of women’s soccer at the professional level,” said Tina Archer-Cope, vice president of sales for Experience Fayetteville. “This event represents not only elite competition, but also a celebration of culture, community, and the growing influence of the sport across the country.”
