Rinda (Latdavone) Southammavong, born August 1, 1956, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tongkham and Nan Southammavong of Laos.

Rinda is survived by her husband: Khamphan Singchantha, three children: Touny Xayavongsa, Hiro Southammavong, and Darouny Southammavong of Laos, as well as her eight cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy: Janessa, Taliyah, Malachi, Aunaley, Lorelei, and three whom are in Laos.

More than 40 years ago, Rinda came to America in search of a better life for herself and her family. Through strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love, she built a life rooted in resilience and devotion. As the matriarch of the family, she was the one who held everyone together—offering guidance, comfort, and unconditional support to all who needed it.

She had a deep love for music and joy. She especially loved to sing and dance and was a proud member of a band, where she shared her talent and passion with others. Her vibrant spirit, warm smile, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Rinda’s legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to come together for visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, also at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
