Douglas Wayne “Bubba” Willhite, age 36, passed away peacefully at his home in Alma, Arkansas, on November 7, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1989, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the beloved son of Shelia Denise (Stockton) Willhite and the late Robert Ray Willhite. Doug attended Alma High School, where he earned his GED. He proudly learned the craft of installing siding and windows from his father and carried that knowledge into a longtime career that he took great pride in.
A true Razorback fan, Doug loved watching Arkansas sports and spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially fishing and hunting. Doug was a man of faith who gave his heart to the Lord and cherished his Baptist beliefs. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, quick wit, strong work ethic, and generous spirit—always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Though he had a stubborn streak, his love for his family shone through above all else.
He is survived by his loving companion of 19 years, Misty Hale; his mother, Shelia Willhite; three children, Taylor Lee of Conway, AR, Kindall Ming of Van Buren, AR, and Millie Huff of Morrilton, AR; two grandchildren, Dawson and Jenson; grandmother, Helen Felps of Alma, AR; sister, Kristen Willhite of Fort Smith, AR; nieces, Raelynn Willhite of the home and Piper Huff of Alma, AR; and close friends, Larry Cowan of Fort Smith, and John, Alley, and Alexa with Heart of Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Willhite; paternal grandmother, Bertie Cook; maternal grandfather, Oscar Lee Stockton; uncle, David Willhite; and aunt, Sharon Faulkner.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
