Chester Lee Johnson, better known as “Chuck”, resided near Branch, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born in Logan County, near Paris, Arkansas, to the late Melvin Lee Johnson and Margaret Lenora (Robison) Johnson. He was 89 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and four sisters.

In 1974, Chuck, along with his wife Brenda, opened Chuck’s Garage & Body Shop on Hwy. 41 south of Branch. He loved being an auto mechanic, working on old cars and trucks, deer hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Good Ole Boy’s Car Club, and loved his family very much. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 3rd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Clark Chapel Cemetery, located south of Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Brenda (Graham) Johnson; two daughters, Marian Dow and husband Louis of Charleston and Sherry Johnson of Coal Hill; a son, Allen Johnson of Paris; (7) grandchildren; (17) great-grandchildren; and (2) great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Allen Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Joel Johnson, and Alanna Cantrell.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Charleston.
