James Owen Ussery, 73, of Van Buren passed away on August 29, 2025 in Fort Smith. James was born in Newport, Arkansas on June 29, 1952 to the late Edger and Natalie (Bonham) Ussery. He was retired from Campbell Soup Co. and John Garner Meats. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lonnie Ussery; two sisters, Lou Wakefield and Darlene Allen.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Nancy (Berry) Ussery of the home; a son, James D. Ussery and wife Christie of Dothan, AL; a daughter, Natasha Ledbetter and husband Roger of Van Buren; grandchildren, Isaac and Autumn Ussery, Holli Webb (Spencer) all of Dothan, AL, Drew Alavarado of Roanoke, VA, Hailey Medlock, Cole Anderson, Abby Loudon all of Van Buren, Wyatt Medlock of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, R.C Ussery (Lucy), R.L. Ussery and Billy Joe Ussery all of Fresn, California; sisters, Margie Hazel Kiulehen (Tommy) of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Frances Kiulehen (Marvin) of Conroe, Texas.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday September 2, 2025 at Antioch Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Roger Ledbetter, Wyatt Medlock, Cole Anderson, James D. Ussery, Homer Berry and James Berry.
