Wanda Lee (Wisley) Pollock, 88, of Van Buren Arkansas, passed away peacefully August 5th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Lester and Neutie (Ballentine) Wisley in Golden City, Arkansas, May 24, 1937. She attended Booneville High School and was a member of Beta Club, FFA, and a music graduate of piano. She was voted cutest in her class along with one of her best friend. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Sparks School of Nursing in 1958. She had a 50 year nursing career at Sparks Hospital, including her time as a nursing student. She served in several roles during her career including Nursing Supervisor, Nursing Director of several different areas in the hospital and was Interim Director of Nursing for a period of time. One of her roles included assisting and guiding nurses Sparks Hospital hired and recruited from England. After retiring she continued her love of nurturing others and taught Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church- Van Buren where she was member. She also attended community bible study at Heritage Church and taught in the CBS children’s ministry program for 15 years. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Don Pollock, to whom she was married to for 69 years, 3 brothers, Jesse, Junior, and Paul Gene Wisley, and one grandson Zane Pollock. She is survived by her children Bobby Pollock (Tammy), Barbara Armstrong (Leon), and step-daughter Lisa Sewell (Butch), grandchildren Brittany Wilson (Chalin Jordan), Molly Jernigan (Ethan), Michael Blythe, Dwight Hine, Steven Hine (Brandi), Martha Echols (Mike), Taylor Galbiso and Tanner Galbiso, great grandchildren Makenzie, Madisyn, Macie Wilson, Jacob Vanhorn (Katie), Alissa Ortiz (Matthew), Michael Blythe Jr., (Megan), Maddox Hine, Madalyn and Mallory Echols, Karma, Seth, and Sadie Hine, Shelby and Beau Adkinson, and Zeppelin and Zayden. Sisters in law, Irene Wisley and Kathy Wisley, and brother-in-law Hal Pollock. Nieces Louise Spawnhurst (Eddie), Rebecca Cobb (Bobby), Rebecca Pollock, Pam Roberts (Mark), Melissa Buhl (Mike), Toni Manley, Marsha Mundinger (Norman), Jacklyn Bailey (Don). Nephews, Josh Wisley (Ella), Hugh Leftwich, and Wes Wisley (Cassie). Pallbearers will be Josh Wisley, Leon Armstrong, Chalin Jordan and Tommy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Nurses Honor Guard of the River Valley. Viewing will be at Ocker Funeral Chapel Friday August 8th from 4-6pm. Service will be officiated by pastor Chris Johnson of First Baptist Church- Van Buren on Saturday, August 9th at 10am at Ocker Funeral Chapel at 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetary in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Open Hands Ministry of First Baptist Church of Van Buren, River Valley Nurses Honor Guard or Community Bible Study.
