Doyle E. Seamans, 85 years of age, born on January 17, 1940, passed from this life to a better place on July 7, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frankie Sue of Fort Smith. Jesse Wayne Lokey, great grandson and great-great grandson Kenneth Lokey. Son, Alan Seamans (Marlina) of Arkoma. Kenny Paul Lokey, great grandson of Fort Smith. Two sisters Linda Kay McGahan (Don) of Rye Hill and Becky Sue Howell (Steve) also of Rye Hill. Granddaughter Annette Wilmoth (Josh) of Jessieville.
Born in Greenwood, he was the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. He finished high school at Greenwood during which he had a part-time job at a creamery. Before joining the Army, he worked with the railroad removing railroad ties and rails. In the Army he became a sharpshooter, mechanic, chauffeur for a general and did security at the Berlin wall with top security clearance. When he came back, he was working at a furniture factory as a lead man. After this he worked in construction and shortly was promoted to a foreman. He went to work after this as a custodian and bus driver for the Magazine School district. As well as drove one of the church vans for Magazine Baptist Church even after retirement and moving to Little Rock.
“Honey,” as he was affectionately called by his wife, was known for his sense of humor by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Honey’s passage on this Earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unfaltering faith in God and his love for his Family. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of his Family and friends and many more whose lives were touched by him.
He had the patience of Job. If we were able to still nominate people for sainthood, we would nominate him for patience. He was always helping the family with a multitude of different matters. He was good at making short wave radios and rebuilding computers from donated supplies for kids that couldn’t afford them.
Memorial Service will be Tuesday 15th, at 10 AM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Instead of flowers, please donate to Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital at 2601 Gene George Blvd, AR 72762. 1-479-309-5391.
