42nd Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
Christian Business Men's Committee began in 1930 when a small band of Christian businessmen came together in Chicago, intent in sharing their faith with others.
During the past 83 years, CBMC has become international in scope with effective ministries on six continents. In the United States, we are now numbering in the thousands in all 50 states.
CBMC's primary purpose is twofold: to present Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to business and professional men and these men to carry out the Great Commission.
We are not a church. We try to reach men and women who do not attend church. We try to reach people at the market place. Ministers tells us that their members who belong to a local CBMC are some of the most dedicated members of their church.
CBMC started in Fort Smith with one committee. We now have two committees. We are called "Committee" because our work is never finished.
The Fort Smith Committes are as follows:
The Downtown Committee meets on Saturday morning at Butterfield Place, 8420 Phoenix Avenue, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. – Chairman Larry Nelson
The Old Fort Committee meets on Tuesday morning at the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House, 3324 South "M" Street, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. – Chairman Paul Newman
