Bill C. Benton, 94, of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Heavener, Oklahoma. He was born January 25, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Ada Lee (Coss) Denham. He was a retired Carpenter of Local #802 and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, Bret Newman and wife, Corazon of Poteau and David Denham and wife, Velma of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Adell Butler and husband, Charles of Riverside, CA and Carol Denham of Florida; one brother, Ron Denham and wife, Geneva of Ohio; one sister, Jean Burchinal of New Castle, KY; eleven grandchildren, Bret Newman and wife, Sheri, Brittany Newman, James Spencer, Jeremy Spencer and wife, Rebecca, Jesse Butler and wife, Kimberly, John Butler and wife, Maggie, Blu Denham, Brandon Denham, David Denham, Jr., Bert Nichols and Louis Nichols; several great grandchildren, including Emma, Hartlyn, Bella, Aria, Jasper, Hayvn, Melissa, Jeremy, Brooklyn, Lillian, Gavin, Jesiah and Ella and nine great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Benton and a daughter, Christina Nichols.

A family led memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
