Scott Family Amazeum begins $25 million capital campaign
The Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville will launch a $25 million fundraising campaign to enhance and expand the 50,000-square-foot museum, according to a Wednesday (Jan. 8) news release.
Amazeum and community leaders will kick off the EXP&ING Futures capital campaign in an event at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 14). The event will take place at the museum at 1009 Museum Way in Bentonville.
The release shows the campaign goal is to transform the Amazeum’s campus and programs “to enhance creativity, curiosity and access to” science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) learning opportunities for all ages. The project will include an expanded Early Childhood Center, a “world-class” outdoor playscape and a space for additional programs and events.
“This campaign is about saying ‘Yes, &…’ to a future full of innovation, inclusivity and inspiration,” Amazeum CEO Sam Dean said. “We invite everyone to join us in dreaming big for our community and making this vision a reality. Together, we can ensure that the Amazeum continues to be a hub of creativity and discovery for generations to come.”
Dean and other community leaders will speak at the Tuesday event, featuring a first look at expansion plans, including renderings and designs for new facilities and programs.
Since opening on July 15, 2015, the Amazeum has provided guests of all ages with hands-on experiences and activities in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM). The Amazeum includes a climbable tree canopy, indoor cave, the 3M Tinkering Hub, Hershey’s Lab, Nickelodeon PlayLab, the Market sponsored by Walmart and nearly 1 acre of outdoor space.
