Restaurant, club opens at Stonebreaker in Fayetteville

Fayetteville real estate developer Specialized Real Estate Group and Hay Creek Hotels recently announced the opening of the Restaurant at Stonebreaker and the Club at Stonebreaker on Markham Hill in Fayetteville.

The establishments are adjacent to the 78-room Stonebreaker Hotel, which is expected to open in early winter. A company spokeswoman said the restaurant and club will be within 11,000-square-foot The House at 2231 W. Markham Road. The combined seating capacity will be 110 inside and outside.

The restaurant has opened for daily dinner service, and breakfast and lunch will soon be served. The menu of small and large plates features “globally inspired flavors with locally sourced ingredients that change with the seasons,” the spokeswoman said.

John Canavan is the property’s general manager. Michael Meeks is the restaurant’s general manager and most recently worked at Ropeswing Hospitality Group. Cognac Franklin is the club manager and previously worked at BlakeSt House in Bentonville. Arkansas native Tyler Rogers is the executive chef. Rogers was previously executive chef at Hail Fellow Well Met in Johnson and has worked under chefs Thomas Keller, Grant Achatz, and Iliana Regan.

When the 62,914-square-foot hotel at 163 N. Cabin Ridge Road opens this winter, Stonebreaker will comprise about 70 employees, 60 of whom are expected to be full-time. According to the spokeswoman, the investment cost for the restaurant and club cannot be disclosed due to the project’s integration with the broader development. Austin, Texas-based FÖDA designed Stonebreaker.

Also on Markham Hill, Specialized Real Estate Group recently placed 39 acres of land there under permanent conversation with a conservation easement held by Northwest Arkansas Land Trust.

Jeremy Hudson, CEO of Specialized Real Estate Group, said this was “the first step in fulfilling our pledge to preserve half of Markham Hill as greenspace.” The Markham Hill development comprises 119 acres, and the easement protects the land from future development.
