Hendrix College adds Ben Carter to advancement office
Hendrix College has named Benjamin K. Carter as its Assistant Vice President for Advancement, effective August 5, 2024.
Carter comes to the Hendrix community from the University of Arkansas, where he has served in a series of development roles since 2004, consistently exceeding fundraising goals in each of them.
Most recently, he held the position of Senior Director of Development in the Division of Student Affairs, a role he’s been in since 2019.
“We are thrilled to have Ben joining the Hendrix community,” said Hendrix Vice President for Advancement Dr. Meredith Brunen. “With a proven track record of securing significant philanthropic support, as well as building and strengthening relationships with key constituents, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit Hendrix for years to come.”
In this role, Carter will provide strategic leadership focused on advancing the philanthropic culture of Hendrix College through coordinated development, engagement, and strategic initiatives. Additionally, he will serve as a thought partner to Brunen and Hendrix President Karen Petersen, helping to strengthen the college and position it for growth and success well into the future.
“I am excited to join Hendrix, a college with a rich history and stellar reputation, and outstanding faculty, staff, students, and alumni,” Carter said. “I am passionate about philanthropy and eager to engage with the Hendrix community to create opportunities for students and the school. Under the leadership of President Petersen and Vice President Brunen, I look forward to building upon the strengths of Hendrix College.”
An Arkansas native, Carter attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
