Single-family home permits up 16.3% in Northwest Arkansas’ 4 largest cities
Residential building permit activity for single-family homes in Northwest Arkansas’s four largest cities is up 16.2% from last year’s pace through the first 11 months of 2023.
According to permit data from each city collected by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, there were 1,839 residential building permits issued in the first 11 months in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale. That compares with 1,582 permits in the same period of 2022.
The permits through November this year have a combined value of $575.73 million, down 12.9% compared with $661.03 million last year.
Officials in Fayetteville issued the most permits through November with 514 ($163.14 million), down 25% from the previous year of 686 ($260.10 million).
The report from the other cities through the first 11 months was:
- Bentonville: 427 permits, $160.67 million (2023); 425 permits, $215.82 million (2022).
- Rogers: 502 permits, $152.79 million (2023); 263 permits, $100.41 million (2022)
- Springdale: 396 permits, $99.13 million (2023); 208 permits, $84.70 million (2022)
In Bella Vista, through November this year, city officials issued 472 permits valued at $170.12 million. That’s down 6.9% from 507 permits and $170.8 million in the same period of 2022.
Building officials in Centerton issued 492 single-family permits through November this year valued at $172.72 million. That’s down 34.6% compared with 753 permits in the same period of 2022.
