Wienerschnitzel will open second NWA location this weekend in Springdale
California-based hot dog franchise Wienerschnitzel said Thursday (Sept. 15) it will open its second Northwest Arkansas location on Saturday in Springdale.
The restaurant is at 4726 Mercy Lane, just off the Elm Springs Road exit west of Interstate 49.
Tejas Dogs, the Texas-based franchisee, opened its first Wienerschnitzel location in Bentonville (1530 E. Centerton Blvd.) in June. The group has a multi-unit development plan to open 20 stores in Arkansas over the next several years.
Business partners Mike Smith and Alvin Fults own Tejas Dogs.
“Our first opening in Bentonville was bigger and better than any of us could’ve ever imagined,” Fults said in a news release. “We were able to achieve fantastic results, having broken Wienerschnitzel’s opening day sales record across all locations several days in a row. It’s definitely been a journey to get to where we are today, but seeing guests line up for hours just for the chance to try our food made everything worth it.”
Fults attributed the success to a unique business model.
“It’s a virtually untapped segment, with low costs, simple menu items and streamlined operations,” he said. “It’s exactly what operators need, and I’m eager to see the kind of success we can garner as we head towards 20 locations.”
Brian Shinall, a Springdale native, is the business manager of Tejas Dogs, bringing over 30 years of real estate development and investment experience.
“The community response in Arkansas has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Doug Koegeboehn, chief marketing officer for Galardi Group, Wienerschnitzel’s parent company. “Tejas Dogs has proven to be a stellar operating partner, driving phenomenal sales each week since their initial opening in Bentonville. Given just how successful their first location has been, I have every confidence that they’ll generate the same excitement and buzz in Springdale.”
The news release did not say what time the Springdale location will open on Saturday. The Bentonville restaurant’s operating hours are from 10 a.m. until midnight.
Wienerschnitzel, the nation’s largest hot dog chain, was founded in 1961 and now has more than 340 franchise locations in 10 states.
