Mitchell Williams hires 2 for litigation practice

Arkansas corporate law firm Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard announced Thursday (May 11) two new attorneys in its litigation practice. Emily McCord and Blake Brizzolara work in the firm’s Rogers office.

McCord worked for the firm previously (2011-2013) but spent the past decade working in-house for Walmart Inc. in Bentonville. She has experience working with corporate clients to manage tort and commercial litigation matters, develop compliance programs and provide business operations and asset protection counsel.

McCord manages the negotiation, resolution and defense of complex claims and disputes brought against corporate clients. She also assists clients in developing new business strategies to ensure best practices and legal compliance and regularly counsels clients on the creation, enhancement, implementation and assessment of compliance programs.

McCord is board president of the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, is a member of church council at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers and is an Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation board member. She is a graduate of Leadership Arkansas.

Brizzolara previously worked for Friday, Eldredge & Clark. He represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of business disputes, commercial litigation and tort disputes. He focuses his practice on complex business tort litigation, breach of contract disputes, insurance defense and trust and estate disputes. He has successfully represented clients in a complicated trust lawsuit and breach of contract disputes.

Prior to entering private practice, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kristine G. Baker of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Brizzolara is dean of the School of Public Administration for Arkansas Boys State and an Eagle Scout.
