Daniels named Girls Inc. Fort Smith director
The Girls Incorporated Board of Directors has named Amanda Daniels the executive director of Girls Incorporated in Fort Smith. She is set to begin on Feb. 13.
“I am thrilled to take on this new role and serve Girls Incorporated in this capacity. This organization is very close to my heart and I can’t wait to hit the ground running in a few weeks,” Daniels said.
Daniels most recently worked at Arvest Bank where she has served as their vice president of marketing for 10 years.
Her involvement with Girls Inc. has been extensive over the years, serving on the board for 8 years including the roles of Vice President and President.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to have Amanda lead Girls Inc. as its new Executive Director,” said Sherry Sims, Girls Inc. board president. “Because of her past service on the board and her continual involvement in many of our community activities, Amanda has the right combination of knowledge, experience and love of Girls Inc. to be an effective leader for our organization.”
Daniels also serves as vice president for the Leadership Fort Smith Alumni Association Board of Directors and on the Advisory Council for the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce’s Young Emerging Leaders initiative.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from Arkansas Tech University and has graduated from the ABA School of Bank Marketing & Management at Northwestern University where she also earned her CFMP (Certified Financial Marketing Planner) designation.
Girls Inc. is located at 1415 Old Greenwood Road. Girls Inc. of Fort Smith is committed to providing a safe environment with educational and recreational programs that encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges.
Girls Inc. informs policy makers about girls’ needs locally and nationally. The organization educates the media about critical issues facing girls. In addition, the organization teaches girls how to advocate for themselves and their communities using their voices to promote positive change.
