Realtor merger
Members of the Bentonville-Bella Vista Board of Realtors, Rogers Board of Realtors and Metro Area Board of Realtors will vote on Jan. 11 on a merger.
Should that merger pass, the new board will be the largest in state according to membership counts from the National Association of Realtors.
The Metro Area Board has 898 members and covers Washington County and the western half of Benton County. The Rogers Board has 468 members in the Rogers and Lowell areas while the Bentonville-Bella Vista board has 178 members.
Combined, the three boards have 1,544 members and represent 23.3% of the 6,637 Realtors in Arkansas. The largest board in Arkansas is the Little Rock Realtors Association with 1,037 members. The Little Rock Association is made up of members in roughly the area of Pulaski County south of the Arkansas River. The other association operating in that county is the North Pulaski Board of Realtors, which has 515 members and also has jurisdiction in Lonoke County.
Rhonda Sims, executive officer of the Metro Area Board, said she couldn’t discuss the proposed merger at length due to a confidentiality agreement. She did, however, confirm that Realtors in all three boards subject to the proposal will vote on the issue on Jan. 11.
