Sen. Boozman re-elected to third term; All Republicans re-elected in U.S. House races

There were no surprises in the five Arkansas Congressional races, with Republicans continuing to fill all six of the state’s federal seats. U.S. Sen. John Boozman, 71, will return to the Senate for his third six-year term after easily defeating three opponents.

Boozman, who served five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected to the Senate in 2010, received 66% of the vote. Following are the vote counts with 75% of areas reporting, according to the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office.

U.S. Sen. John Boozman – R (incumbent): 532,216 (65.8%)
Kenneth Cates – L: 25,903 (3.2%)
Natalie James – D: 250,717 (31%)

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., was not up for re-election in the 2022 election cycle.

The early returns also showed a sweep by Republicans in the state’s four U.S. House district races.

In Arkansas’ First Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Jonesboro, defeated Independent Roger Daughtery and Democrat Rep. Monte Hodges. Crawford, 56, was first elected to Congress in 2010.

U.S. Rep. French Hill, R-Little Rock, was also re-elected to the Second Congressional District. Hill, 65, was first elected to Congress in 2014. He defeated Democrat Quintessa Hathaway and Libertarian Michael White.

U.S. Rep. Steve Womack, R-Rogers, defeated Democrat Lauren Mallett-Hays and Libertarian Michael Kalagias to return to the state’s Third Congressional District. Womack, 65, was first elected to Congress in 2010.

U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-Hot Springs, is also returning to Congress to represent Arkansas’ Fourth Congressional District. He defeated Democrat John White and Libertarian Gregory Maxwell. Westerman, 54, was first elected to Congress in 2016.

District 4 (76% reporting)
Gregory Maxwell – L: 13,245 (6.8%)
U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman – R (incumbent): 133,927 (69.1%)
John White – D: 46,707 (24.9%)
