Jeremy Mason McGraw has invented a new kind of photography lighting modifier called Halumin.

A Bentonville entrepreneur launched a Kickstarter campaign hoping to bring to market a new kind of lighting modifier for photographers.

Jeremy Mason McGraw, an international commercial photographer, launched the campaign Aug. 26. It runs until Friday (Sept. 30), and McGraw’s goal is to reach $63,069 in funding.

McGraw has invented a new kind of photography lighting modifier called Halumin. It is a patent pending, first-of-its-kind product in a new category of lighting modifiers called Open Cylindrical Lighting (OCL) modifiers.

He explained that the hand-held device simplifies the setup of lighting for photography and video into a single, easy-to-use piece of equipment.

“It enables pros to work faster and amateurs to get pro results without the learning curve,” McGraw said. “It will help photographers shoot small subjects like products, food and drinks quickly in a wide variety of situations with full studio lighting. It also has some applications to shoot portraits with it.”

McGraw does business through his Bentonville home studio Global Image Creation. He is a luxury hotel and travel photographer with 20 years of global experience and has worked with legendary hotels such as the top-rated hotel in Europe, the Baur au Lac in Zurich, Switzerland.

After two years of development, McGraw said he is working directly with a factory to fine-tune the design and expects the make an initial production order after the Kickstarter campaign ends.
