Walmart to offer OEM auto parts online with RevolutionParts partnership
Walmart announced Friday a new shopping portal on its online marketplace where consumers can purchase original equipment manufactured (OEM) auto parts with a partnership with RevolutionParts. Automobile parts can be found on the landing page for the RevolutionParts on Walmart.com.
“Allowing our dealership partners to feature their parts on Walmart.com is a significant milestone for our company,” said Ibrahim Mesbah, CEO and co-founder of RevolutionParts. “Walmart is dedicated to creating a vibrant shopping experience that drives incredible value for their partners.”
Over the past two years, Walmart has grown its U.S. online sale by 100%. The OEM parts e-commerce industry continues to be one of the fasting online categories, growing 30% last year amid the pandemic. Analysts predict the category will see another 30% growth of online sales this year.
Brian Rowland, general manager over parts and accessories for Walmart, said Walmart.com gained immediate access to hundreds of thousand of parts that will allow the retailer to immediately establish a broad offering for customers shopping for themselves or mechanics and auto repair shops.
Walmart said as part of the partnership the retail giant will build pages dedicated to OEM parts, making it easier to find products. Customers will be able to search for parts based on the make, model and year of their vehicle, which will make shopping in this category simple and fast, the retailer said.
RevolutionParts’ core focus is on delivering a platform for parts retail and wholesale commerce channels. The RevolutionParts has reported more than $550 million in annual sales and reaches millions of unique buyers globally.
