Pilot Club provides money to Fountain of Youth
The Pilot Club of Fort Smith will match a grant of $2,368 from the Pilot International Foundation to support the Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center. A check in the amount of $4,736 was presented to the Fountain of Youth Executive Director Kristi Graham.
The funds for the grant came from the Pilot International Foundation (PIF) and from the local club’s annual pecan and fruitcake sale. The Fountain of Youth purchased a printer/copier with the funds to enable them to more efficiently produce printed materials and more effectively serve their clients.
Chartered in 1939 by Pilot International, the Pilot Club of Fort Smith (PCFS) was founded to provide community services. Supporting the Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center has been one of the clubs projects for many years.
Previously, the PIF and PCFS have joined forces to provide the Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center with items such as a commercial dishwasher, a piano, freezer, and an icemaker. The club also provides recliners, lift chairs and many other items on a continuing basis to supplement the comfort of the clients and improve the services provided by the Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center.
The Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center is a non-profit organization established in 1989. The mission of the Fountain of Youth exists to serve as a safe haven and loving refuge. Their goal is to provide excellent care, fun and stimulating activities, nutritious meals and a “family feel” environment for the precious senior citizens and other dependent adults that spend their days with the Fountain of Youth. They also provide peace of mind, and a much needed break from constant care giving, to care giving family members.
