The Boomarang Diner, which was originally located at 915 Garrison Ave. in downtown Fort Smith has made the decision to stay downtown.

A fire recently destroyed the building in which the restaurant operated.

The Diner will relocating to 15 N. Second St., and will occupy the rail car located in the Park at West End. Rail car owner Phil White met with the owners Tuesday (April 19) and contracts were signed, according to a press release from Jayne Hughes with the city of Fort Smith.

“This will be an excellent location for this well established business to locate and Downtown will still be home to their great menu items which have become regular favorites for many of our citizens,” the statement noted. “Their nostalgic theme for the Boomarang will be a perfect fit for the car. Opening date has not been determined but we are hopeful that this will take place in the next 30 days.”
