What keeps you up at night or worries you the most? My clients’ worries are my worries. So when my clients are up at night with a legal problem, I’m committed and up at night until I can help them find a solution.

Has it been a good thing or bad thing in terms of how the pandemic has altered your business’ strategy? Zoom is a game changer. I get to spend more time at the home base and less time traveling while at the same time connecting with others. It’s like having the best of both worlds. Now that video conferencing is a way of life, I feel as though I can connect with more people but on their terms.

If you had $1 million to give, what would you support? I would support helping people who have previously been incarcerated rejoin society. Lobbying to help them get the right to vote, teaching them business and social skills, and teaching them the skills they need to start a business.

What is the best business advice you have ever received? Do what you love and the rest will follow. My dad told me that.

What has been your toughest leadership challenge during the pandemic? Focusing on my own professional development. I’m too busy making sure others around me have what they need.

Describe your morning routine. Grabbing the phone to check mail, news, then listening to C-SPAN as my husband brings my first cup of coffee for the day.

If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you be doing? Gardening.

What is the most important thing about being a leader? The most important thing about being a leader is empowering others to be the best version of themselves.
