AG Dustin McDaniel Raises More Than $1 Million In Governor’s Bid

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, an already declared candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor, raised more than $1 million for his 2014 bid during his first three months of fundraising.

In his first campaign finance report for Governor, McDaniel reported raising $1,035,618.66 and spent $138,525.44. McDaniel had more than $887,000 cash on hand at the end of September.

The report filed today showed $923,118.66 was donated for the Democratic primary and $112,500 for a potential runoff.

His campaign said that money was raised from 883 individuals or businesses in the quarter that ended Sept. 30, 2012. More than 90 percent of all donations received by the campaign were from Arkansas individuals or businesses. Also, 62 percent of this quarter’s contributors had never contributed to McDaniel’s past races for Attorney General, he reported. Individual donors outnumbered corporate donors three-to-one, according to the McDaniel campaign.
