Bentonville Butcher & Pint closing this weekend; owners hope to re-open by early 2020

The owners of Bentonville Butcher & Pint said Tuesday (Sept. 17) in a social media post the restaurant at 1201 S. Walton Blvd. will close this weekend.

According to a Facebook post, the restaurant will cease operations at the close of business Sunday.

“Unfortunately, after more than 15 years we have been unable to come to terms on a new lease and will be moving to a new spot,” the post read.

Tuesday’s post alluded to a new location for the restaurant but did not mention a site.

“We have narrowed the search for a new location to a few spots and will share as much as we can as soon as we can. Our goal is to open in early 2020,” the post read.

The Facebook post offered additional information about the closing. The complete entry is published below:

“Today we want to share some major news about Bentonville Butcher and Pint.

This Sunday, September 22nd, will be our last day of service in our current location on South Walton. Unfortunately, after more than 15 years we have been unable to come to terms on a new lease and will be moving to a new spot.

Our biggest concern during this transition is for our amazing staff. They have worked hard to serve you and will need to find new roles while we are transitioning. If you are looking for great folks with amazing skills and attitudes, please reach out.

We also want to thank our loyal customers for your patronage and support throughout the years. We cannot wait to welcome you to our new digs.

A few important points:

Any and all catering orders will be honored. We have handled large caterings out of the High South Culinary lab for several years and our change of primary location will not impact our capacity to deliver.

If you have a gift card or certificate we will honor it at our new location with no expiration date or you may redeem those credits at Tusk and Trotter. Nobody will be left empty handed.

We have narrowed the search for a new location to a few spots and will share as much as we can as soon as we can. Our goal is to open in early 2020.

We invite you out this Sunday evening, September 22, at 6pm for a final blow out at our Walton location. Details will follow and you can expect great prices and a whole lot of fun.

Lastly, we will be open our regular hours the remainder of this week. Our staff would love to serve you a cold beverage and juicy burger one last time before we see you again in our new location.

In July, the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal reported the restaurant’s location was being marketed for lease by commercial real estate firm Colliers International in Rogers.

The restaurant is in about 6,400 square feet on the first floor of a two-story building. It has been owned since December 2015 by Keith Naples of Texarkana, who paid $3 million for the 19,000-square-foot building. The restaurant space also features roll-up patio doors with outdoor dining space. Parachuting Penguins and Rich Products Corp. are other building tenants.

Butcher & Pint opened in 2001 as Bentonville Butcher and Deli. The restaurant sold in 2014 to many of the same investors who own downtown Bentonville restaurant Tusk & Trotter, including tech executives Stan Zylowski and April Seggebruch, co-founders of Bentonville software firm Movista.

Butcher & Pint changed concepts in 2016 by adding a full restaurant and bar. Last year, the restaurant also brought on award-winning executive chef Rob Nelson, who is also the executive chef who helped establish Tusk & Trotter in 2011.

Jason Oaks, Butcher & Pint’s general manager, told the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal the restaurant employs between 25 and 30 people.
