Former Gov. Mike Huckabee rolled out several endorsements of Arkansas candidates Friday through his political action committee – HuckPAC.

In the Congressional races, Huckabee endorsed Congressman Rick Crawford in the First District and Congressman Tim Griffin in the Second District.  He also endorsed Tom Cotton in the Fourth District, who is seeking the open seat currently held by Congressman Mike Ross.  Huckabee endorsed Cotton’s opponent – his former gubernatorial staff member Beth Anne Rankin – in the May primary.

Cong. Rick Crawford

“Rick has proven to be the kind of conservative Republican we need in Washington. He knows that we have a lot of work to do, and he will not stop working to solve our problems,” said Huckabee.  “Rick knows that the importance of agriculture to Arkansas’ economy cannot be overstated, since it is the state’s number one industry. It is vitally important that our leadership in Washington take a hands-on approach in protecting our industry.”

Cong. Tim Griffin

“I have known Tim Griffin for many years and he is a true conservative leader in our state that is on a mission to change Washington at its core. I can’t think of any better goal than to make D.C. fight for hardworking taxpayers. Tim knows that government belongs to us, not the other way around, and he values the trust Arkansans have put in him to fight for them in Congress. I wholeheartedly endorse Tim Griffin to return to Congress and put America back on the comeback trail,” said Huckabee.

Tom Cotton

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Tom Cotton for United States Congress. Tom is a sixth-generation Arkansan and decorated combat veteran who understands and will defend traditional Arkansas values, like the right to life, the Second Amendment, and cutting taxes. I look forward to seeing my home district represented by a Republican Congressman in the next Congress,” said Huckabee.

Huckabee also endorsed two State Senate freshmen seeking to return to the Senate – Sen. Jason Rapert and Sen. Missy Irvin.

Sen. Jason Rapert

“Sen. Jason Rapert is a man of integrity and solid conservative values. He has a plan to make Arkansas a better place to live, work and raise a family. His work in the Arkansas State Senate helped cut taxes by $35 million dollars. He’s fought for hardworking Arkansas taxpayers and their traditional common sense values. I am proud to call Jason Rapert my friend and ask that you vote for him and send him back to the Arkansas Senate,” said Huckabee.

Sen. Missy Irvin

“Missy Thomas Irvin is serving her first term in the Arkansas State Senate. Missy is a common sense conservative, a thoughtful and responsible Senator, working hard for the people of Arkansas’ 10th District. From fighting Obamacare to fighting for rural Arkansas, she has stood with the people of Arkansas,” said Huckabee.

It will be interesting to see how heavily Huckabee gets involved in the races in his former state now that he primarily lives in Florida and has both a daily radio show and a weekly program on Fox News.  How much will he commit to these campaigns both with appearances and campaign funds?  Will he endorse other candidates as well?

We shall see.
