CANDIDATE RESPONSE REQUEST
In 400 words or less, please explain your qualifications for the office you seek and what you would do to improve the office if elected.
• Joyce Landers response:
Landers did not respond to The City Wire request for comment.
• State Rep. Beverly Pyle response:
I have been a small business owner for 32 years and I know the importance of keeping good records and disciplined accounting procedures.
I have served the City of Cedarville as Mayor for six years and I was responsible for overseeing the City’s budget during that time.
The past 6 years I have served as State Representative for District 83. During my service I was charged with approving the state’s budget and balancing the needs of the state with limited funds.
I served on the City, County and Local Affairs Committee and was Co- Chair of Joint auditing committee for municipal and county audit. I am fully aware of the problems that our counties and county officials face and realize the importance of keeping accurate, transparent records.
At this time I can not offer any changes for the office as I believe that the current Treasurer has a great reputation for operating an effective, friendly office. I will continue to carry forward this style of service and if I discover areas that can be automated in time, I will pursue them.
